Lone Star Chapter
FMCA 101th International Convention: Convention is cancelled
March 26 - 29, 2020
Pima County Fairgrounds
Tucson, AZ

Letter from National President Jon Walker

Dear FMCA Friends,

During the past few weeks, unprecedented things have been happening in our world.  None of us could have predicted that a pandemic would prevent
FMCA from hosting its 101st International Convention & RV Expo in Tucson, Arizona, this month.  We were all excited to be together and to celebrate the
lifestyle that we love.  So many preparations had been made to ensure that everyone had a great time, and those efforts - and related expenses - ended up
being wasted.

And it wasn't just the national office staff and FMCA national officers and Convention Committee that had made plans.  Members, volunteers, exhibiting
companies, seminar presenters, entertainers, etc. were preparing to be there.  It's disappointing to see all that fall by the wayside as a result of
circumstances beyond anyone's control.

Quite honestly, with FMCA being a non-profit, losing the proceeds from this event puts the association's financial well-being at risk.  FMCA devotes as much
of its resources as possible to member benefits, including our first-class events.  So, with a budget that focuses on breaking even rather than generating
large profits, a scenario such as this cancellation could be devastating.  FMCA does not have insurance that covers the association and its losses from this
kind of event cancellation.

We are sending each registrant a certificate that will be good toward the equivalent registration level at a future FMCA International Convention & RV Expo.
For instance, if you registered for the event and requested 30-amp electric service, this certificate will be redeemable for an equivalent spot at a future FMCA
convention.  If you are an exhibitor and you purchased a 10x10 booth, you would receive a certificate for the equivalent at a future venue.  Note that facilities
do not always have the same types of utilities/services, so we will do our best to match attendees' registration levels at future events.  Those who signed up
for RV Basics, RV Driving School (Driving/Backing), and Ladies' Luncheon will receive a separate certificate to be redeemed at a future event.

These certificates will result in attendees locking in current rates and not being subject to any future price increases.  And they can be used at any FMCA
International Convention between now and March 2023, when they will expire.  The certificate will not have any cash value, but it will be transferable to
someone else.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and flexibility as we cope with the extraordinary circumstances FMCA and many other companies are facing.

We remain hopeful that recent efforts taken by authorities in the United States and Canada will succeed in mitigating the virus and that this will pass quickly
so that we can get back to life as we knew it very soon.  We're thinking of those afflicted by the virus.  We're thankful to those on the front lines fighting this -
the doctors, nurses, and other health care workers and essential personnel.

Please follow the precautions recommended by medical authorities and stay safe and well.

FMCA 102th International Convention: Convention is cancelled
August 26 - 29, 2020
Lancaster Event Center - Lincoln, NE

Letter from National President Jon Walker

Dear FMCA Friends,

I am sorry to announce that on Friday, March 20, 2020, FMCA's Board of Directors voted to cancel the association's 102nd International Convention & RV
Expo, scheduled for August 26-29, 2020, at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic in North America - in particular, how long it might last - FMCA's leadership made the
complex and agonizing decision to cancel this event.  For the health of our members and the financial health of the association, it was the most sensible
and appropriate thing to do.

You will receive a full refund of your registration fees, returned to your credit card or by check, depending on how you paid.  There is no need to call or
contact the national office.  We will begin processing these refunds immediately.
We hope this pandemic will be under control by next spring and we can gather for our next convention scheduled for March 10-13, 2021, at the Georgia
National Fairgrounds in Perry.  Until then, please follow the recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help stop the
spread of COVID-19.  And travel safely.

South Central Area 47th Rally (Six-State): Rally is cancelled
September 16 - 19, 2020
Heart of Oklahoma Expo Ctr.
Shawnee, OK

Letter from Joe Wright, National Area Vice President

After consultation with the Executive Board of the South Central Area, I have reluctantly decided to cancel the September 2020 Shawnee Rally due to
concerns of the COVID-19 VIRUS. This was not an easy decision so I will give a brief summary of the facts affecting my action.

• We have entered very unsure times as many people have to stay in their homes, unable to travel and told to keep their distance from others. • We don’t
know if this will be for days, weeks or months. • The welfare and safety of our FMCA members and family must be put before any other considerations. •
Some of our vendors usually order supplies for the rally 120 to 180 days before the event and they could lose considerable money and not be able to
recover financially. • The rally attendees also have to make decisions on travel/reservations without knowing if they will be able to go as planned.

The following positive actions have also been taken:

➢ Refunds are being processed for those registered, and going out, immediately. ➢ Shawnee will hold the grounds for us to the last minute and we may be
able to hold a modified rally if things change for the better.

PLEASE check our website often for the latest updates. (sca-fmca.com)

A thought to remember; Most of our members are in the age group most affected by this virus. They are also huggers, back slappers and those that like to
be close to each other.  A friend sent me the following from Minnesota: {When this ends, may we find that we have become more like the people we wanted
to be, we were called to be, we hoped to be, and may we stay that way – better for each other, because of the worst.}
