1963, 13 Member coaches met in San Antonio, Texas to discuss the formation of a Texas Chapter.  The meeting took place at Brackenridge Park in
September of 1966.

By March of 1967 there were 30 members, after consideration of several names, including Los Tejanos, Texas Gypsies, Long Horns, Texas
Bluebonnets and Texas Rangers, the group decided on The Lone Star Chapter.

On June 16, 1967, FMCA granted a charter to the Lone Star Chapter, and it was presented to the Membership at the September Rally.

From its meager beginnings The Lone Star Chapter grew to 213 member coaches in 1995.  In 1970 the Chapter had 4 Rallies per year scheduled.

In 1972 a song was written by Minnealea Ferguson and adopted as the Chapter Song.  The Lone Star Chapter hosted the “Five State Rally” for FMCA
at Traders Village in Grand Prairie, Texas.  Twenty Six States were represented and 263 coaches were in attendance.

The Lone Star Chapter and Wes-Tex Chapter co-hosted the Six State Rally for FMCA in 1992.  The Lone Star Chapter co-hosted the Six State Rally in
Sedalia, Missouri in 2000.

We will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary of Lone Star Chapter September 7 thru 9th, 2017 at the Choctow Casino KOA in Durant, OK. .

Over the years The Lone Star Chapter has been a continuous support to FMCA’s South Central and National Organizations.  Past and current Chapter
members have served at various levels as Officers and Directors, in both Organizations.  Chapter members also frequently volunteer at National and
South Central Conventions.
